Insomniac Games is setting the stage for the global debut of Spider-Man 2 on PlayStation 5 this week by rolling out the first update for the game. If you've digitally pre-ordered the game, then you're in luck, as you can pre-load the eagerly-awaited sequel already. PlayStation Game Size tipped off via X (Twitter) that a day-one update, weighing approximately 1.8GB, is also now available for download for those who have pre-loaded the title. The specifics of the updates are yet to be shared by Insomniac, potentially held back until the official game reviewers, currently bound by NDA, are free to share their insights.
This week, the whole world gets to join in the fun with the launch of Spider-Man 2 on PlayStation 5. According to earlier reports from this month, the game will likely measure up to its 2018 predecessor as far as span is concerned, but the game's set pieces are set to feel more expansive courtesy of PlayStation 5's hardware. Spider-Man 2, like the original Spider-Man game by Insomniac for PlayStation 4 (and PS5), is going to provide unlockable suits for characters Peter Parker and Miles Morales. Some striking visuals of these suits were revealed earlier this month, which are well worth a look.
Reflecting on the superior combat features in Marvel’s Spider-Man, gameplay highlights include encounters that seemingly overwhelm Spider-Man, a lone hero. His rapid strikes, combined with his honed Spider-Sense, equip him with the ability to anticipate impending attacks and meet them with effortless counters. Essential to success in free-flow combat is the innovative use of Peter’s web abilities and gadgets, as they allow enemies trapped in the web to be used as makeshift weapons or swiftly neutralized if stuck to a wall. Additionally, new suits for Spider-Man bestow unique powers that can be swapped freely among over two dozen close-fitting costumes designed for the elusive crime-fighter.
