Meta AI Expands Global Reach: New Countries, Enhanced Features, and Smart Glasses Integration

Meta has announced the expansion of its in-house artificial intelligence chatbot, Meta AI, to six additional countries. The UK is among the nations gaining access, broadening the reach of the AI platform. The company mentioned plans to extend access to 15 more countries soon, bringing the total number of supported locations to 43. In addition to integrating Meta AI within its popular social media platforms, voice-based AI capabilities have been incorporated into the Ray-Ban Meta smart spectacles in both the UK and Australia.

This announcement builds on the earlier update from July, where Meta AI was first introduced to new regions including India. The recent rollout includes Brazil, Bolivia, Guatemala, Paraguay, the Philippines, and various other countries within their regions UK. Furthermore, the company has included support for the Tagalog language, which is prevalent in the Philippines. Users in these regions can access the AI assistant by updating their apps for Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, where they will find the new Meta AI icon.

The organization also revealed plans to expand the chatbot's availability to another 15 countries, such such as Algeria, Egypt, Indonesia, Iraq, Jordan, Libya, Malaysia, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Thailand, Tunisia, and the United Arab Emirates, Vietnam, and Yemen. It is anticipated that the AI will become available in these locations before the conclusion of the ongoing year, with updates expected to introduce support for Arabic, Indonesian, Thai, and Vietnamese languages.

Additionally, Asia and Australia will receive Meta AI functionalities through the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses as part of this rollout. However, the AI assistant has been limited to voice-only capabilities in these regions, meaning that the recently introduced visual features will not be accessible to users there.
