Recently, Warner Bros. unveiled a brief teaser for the upcoming Minecraft movie, which is helmed by the eccentric director known for his work on Napoleon Dynamite and Nacho Libre. This short glimpse featured Jack Black taking on the role of Steve, alongside Jason Momoa sporting a striking 80s-inspired look complete with eyeshadow and a pink leather jacket. The game’s Swedish creator, Marcus Persson, more commonly recognized as Notch, shared his thoughts about the teaser on social media.
He expressed that despite the game lacking a defined storyline, he found the film surprisingly enjoyable, even admitting to laughing a couple of times, particularly at the sight of a sheep. He concluded his thoughts by acknowledging the peculiar sensation of being entertained by it.
Notch went on to state that he would have been open to allowing his creation to be reimagined for cinematic display by the infamous Uwe Boll. He remarked that he appreciates the spectacle and that his connection to the game differs from that of its players—he's more intrigued by the innovative interpretations of ideas that emerged spontaneously during the game's development, like the iconic creeper.
